Eigi hef ég verið duglegur að blogga upp á síðkastið. Síðan ég flutti í þessa borg niðurníslu og margmennis. En nú stendur það til bóta. Því hvað er betra en að nota sumarið í blogg? Erfiðlega gengur mér að koma út eilífðarverkinu Death & Resurrection. En nú verður fljótlega bót þar á. Þar sem ég hef ákveðið að gefa út gripinn á CDBABY. En það ku ekki vera verra né betra en nokkursstaðar annarsstaðar.
Mér þykir alltaf merkilegt að fylgjast með mannlífi í þessari borg. Hér flæða samana allar tegundir af fólki mögulegar...
Á þriðjudag mun ég spila á tónleikum á Living Room í Brooklyn.

i have been gardening. i like gardening. i was standing with the flowers and the bushes, and soaking through in the rain, when i had some sort of epiphany. i felt incredibly content, like i was on drugs. somehow i felt at one with the trees and the flowers and the mud and the rain. maybe plants are very spiritual.

The record label Paradigm Recordings in London has released the CD Lífsblómið by Hallvarður Ásgeirsson. The CD contains 8 pieces which the composer wrote during his time of study in the Iceland Academy of the Arts. It is possible to order the CD through the Paradigm website: http://www.paradigms-recordings.com. It's released in a limited edition of 500 copies. The CD will also be available in 12tónar and Hljómalind in Reykjavík.

Challenging yet beautiful, powerful and evocative avant modern classical composition taking elements of the 20th Century Viennese musical school of Schonberg, Berg and Webern, the urban deconstructionalism of Einsturzende Neubauten and the desolate arctic glow of Sigur Ros, Biosphere or the Kranky Records roster. Droning doomed classical, shadowy atmospherics and carefully layered works complemented by choral Teutonics from female voice. A mighty proposition indeed.

We have decided to do some gigs as part of the off venue program of iceland airwaves. One is an andrymi evening, which we sort of put together by ourselves and the other is part of the organic airwaves on café hljómalind. These gigs are totally entrance free, so there is no hustle. The aim is just to have a good time.

Now we are putting the finishing touches on my first LP. I\'ve already mixed it up to the level that i possibly can, and now the remaining work is to get some help with the post production. One Finnur Hákonarson of Flís studios will be helping us out with that.
Bergur is working on the new cover, which is getting an overhaul.
All in all I\'m glad to be getting things together, with the help of other people.

In transition from one state to the other, from one coutry to the next. It makes everything stronger, as Im missing my buffer for now, Im just living on the brink, so to speak. Im looking for the next thing to hold on to, everything is blurring, and changing shape.

Even in summer, Reykjavík can be consumed by grey skies of clouds. With no concievable difference between the seasons, we sometimes call it a city of two seasons, autumn and spring. Thats alright, that means you dont have to sweat to the bone. You can wear your winter clothes, but the daylight never stops. I cuddle into the nearest hiding place, and try to find relief. Relief in other people, in their visions, and their understanding. For each human being there is another point of view, another way to see through our obstacles, to see through our troubles, to see through the world. To try and reach to the bottom of the well. We are being consumed by fear, we are being threatened by greed. We are being plundered by the worship of money. But somewhere inside all of us there is a place to find refuge in and return from this state.

Það skeði hér seinustu helgi að harða diski mínum var stolið. Það er harði diskurinn sem inniheldur allt sem ég hef verið að vinna að undanfarið. Ég hafði í eigin hugsunarleysi skilið hann eftir í bílnum er ég skrapp á Joanna Newsom tónleika. Er ég kom aftur sá ég að hann vantaði en ákvað að bíða til morguns með að gera eitthvað í málunum. Er ég kem svo aftur um morguninn og sé að diskurinn er ekki inni í skólanum þar sem við vorum að æfa eða neitt, þá fæ ég nett sjokk. Nema hvað?!? Hringir ekki maður í mig og segist vera frá rannsóknarlögreglunni. Hann segist vera með harða diskinn sem ég eigi að öllum líkindum og það sé verið að yfirheyra manninn núna. Nú þegar ég kem niður á stöð segir maðurinn mér, sem heitir Sigurður, og bað að heilsa mömmu, þar sem hún og konan hans eru vinkonur, að þetta hafi verið enginn annar en Lalli Johns! Það var víst ekki hann sem stal harða diskinum heldur einhver stelpa. Við hefðum náttúrulega aldrei fengið hann aftur nema Lalli hefði tekið við honum. Því vil ég nota tækifærið og þakka rannsóknarlögreglunni og Lalla fyrir að skila diskinum mínum aftur með svona ótrúlega snöggum hætti. Ég vil einnig þakka æðri mætti fyrir að hugsa svona vel um mig. Þetta er ekki svo slæmur heimur sem við lifum í eftir allt, þó svo auðvitað geti hann verið stórhættulegur.
